Coinjock Meadows is a planned residential development with the goal of providing affordable housing for the workforce of Currituck County. The subdivision, to be built by Ocean Builders, will include 28 single family homesites on 36 acres of land with a landscaped entrance from Worth Guard Road. Each homesite will be a minimum of 15,000 square feet. More than 15 acres will be reserved for open space and will not be developed. Ocean Builders will develop the southeast corner of the neighborhood into a recreation and garden area for residents. Several ponds will be excavated on the site. Ocean Builders also plans to take advantage of the site’s canal access to the Intercoastal Waterway by creating a bulkheaded boardwalk for small boat launching.
Homesites will be sold as inclusive home/lot packages. Four different home models will offer buyers a choice of bedrooms, features, and pricing. Each home will be wood-framed construction on a piling foundation with a concrete driveway. The homes have been designed with coastal exterior elements such as board and batten siding, shake siding, porches, and shed dormers.
